Objetivos
- To provide students with professional training to enter the audiovisual field and/or apply it in the classroom.
- To show the strategies for the creation of music for cinema, television and video games.
- To provide tools for rhythmic, melodic and harmonic creation.
- To propose a method for analysing images set to music.
- To teach how to conduct an interview with directors and producers.
- To prepare for both individual and group creation.
- To show the techniques of orchestral and instrumental programming, sound synthesis, score notation, synchronisation with the image and professional audio production.

- Características de la creación audiovisual. Elementos a tener en cuenta.
- Etapas en la composición para medios audiovisuales.
- Análisis de escenas de cine.
- Creación rítmica, melódica y armónica en modalidad y tonalidad aplicada al campo audiovisual.
- Técnicas de programación orquestal, instrumental, síntesis de sonido, notación de partituras, sincronización con la imagen y producción profesional de audio.
Methodology
Active, through the analysis of videos and the creation of non-musicalised images.
Assessment and/or monitoring procedures
Continuous evaluation of the sessions, plus the evaluation of the questionnaire of the last session (face-to-face, one hour).

Cuatro sesiones:
– 2 sesiones online de 4h con Mario Gonsálvez sábados de 9h a 13h: 04 y 18 de marzo
– 2 sesiones presenciales de 8 horas los sábados de 9 a 19h en el Teatro Canónigos de La Granja de San Ildefonso: 11 y 25 de marzo

Speakers
Eva F. Gancedo
She studied music at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid and at Berklee College of Music in Boston (USA).
As a film music composer, she has worked with directors such as Rafael Gordon, Manuel Palacios and Ricardo Franco, with whom she became a regular composer. She has also worked on stage with directors such as José Monleón (theatre) or directors such as Carmen Senra (dance). Her works have been performed, among others, by the Orquesta de la Radio Televisión Española, the Orquesta de Euzkadi or the Orquesta Sinfónica de Praga.
She has received the Goya Award from the Spanish Film Academy for “Best Original Soundtrack” for the music of La Buena Estrella, and a nomination for the music of La Noche del Hermano. She has also received nominations for “Best Original Song” for the films Arderás conmigo and La noche del Hermano. She has won the Círculo de Escritores Cinematográficos Award for “Best Original Score” for La Reina Isabel en Persona and La Buena Estrella, as well as the nomination for “Best TV Music” at the Television Academy Awards for La Rosa de Piedra.
She currently shares her activity as a composer with that of a teacher. She teaches on the Master’s Degree in Composition for Audiovisual Media and on the Bachelor’s Degree at the Katarina Gurska Centre.
Mario Gonsálvez
He studied composition at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, electronic music seminars with Alden Jenks and courses at the Early Music Exploratorium (Berkeley).
In 1989 he enrolled at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, graduating in 1991 with the first prize in the composition department competition.
He has received orchestral commissions from various public and private corporations. In 2002 he was awarded the XX Queen Sofia Composition Prize.
He has also composed Goya award-winning soundtracks and music for theatre and radio.
He collaborates in the Master’s Degree in Composition for Audiovisual Media and the Degree in Composition at the Escuela Superior de Música Katarina Gurska in Madrid.

- Non music graduates will be asked to submit a sound or audiovisual sample of their compositions.
- If the minimum number of students is not reached, the full course fee will be refunded.
- If students who cancel their enrolment within the 4 days prior to the start of the course will NOT be refunded.
- Recognition of ECTS – RESOLUTION of 6 May 2019, of the Rectorate of the University of Valladolid (BOCyL no. 94 of 20 May 2019).

Tools
Theoretical and practical courses with specific themes and contents for their application in the most avant-garde and demanding artistic research projects. Artists, researchers and students will be able to acquire multiple skills according to their training needs and level of knowledge. Depending on their nature, the courses are given on-site at our headquarters in San Ildefonso, on the IKG's virtual campus or with a mixed presential-virtual structure. Some courses may be complemented with Labs.
