  • #KlassicFest 2022 will support Ukranina Children #publication
    March 29, 2022

The Katarina Gurska Foundation will donate all the proceeds from the box office of the #KlassicFest 2022 festival to help children, victims of the conflict in Ukraine, through the NGO Save the Children. The FKG stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and supports music as an element of reconciliation between cultures and nations.

The FKG is deeply and sincerely saddened by the atrocities in Ukraine. Through #KlassicFest it wants to show that musicians remain united, even if the world is divided, in one big international family with a universal language of peace and love.

The concert season of the Katarina Gurska Foundation begins at the Teatro Canónigos del Real Sitio de San Ildefonso with #KlassicFest 2022. From 23 April to 15 May, Saturdays at 19:00h and Sundays at 13:00h.

The #KlassicFest is committed to the new generations of internationally renowned performers and providing opportunities for future promises. Its energy and youthful vision of the great works of the repertoire of all times reflect the feeling of a new generation of musicians who claim a generational relay that deserves to be considered and applauded.

The line-up for 2022 proposes soloists and ensembles in carefully crafted programs with works ranging from the baroque to the present day. Each program has different threads or themes, in concerts dedicated to different solo instruments or in the form of ensembles: Duos, trios, quartets, and quintets will bring their young talent to the great works of, among many others, Bach, Mozart, Brahms, Schubert, Webern, Rachmaninov, Messiaen or even Williams. Combinations of works and styles designed in such a way that they reinforce the common message and accompany the listener in the active listening of the concert. For the May 1st celebration, the Orquesta de Cámara del Real Sitio makes itself available to its fellow conductors, composers, and soloists who will obtain their Bachelor's degree at the CSKG this spring. An exciting encounter that marks the beginning of their professional career.

The FKG organises and sponsors all concerts in collaboration with the City Council of Real Sitio de San Ildefonso. The full proceeds from the box office will go to the NGO Save the Children to channel all of their donations to the most vulnerable children. The public will be able to collaborate with this cause and NGO on the day of the concert, with a minimum suggested donation of €5. The Theatre's box office opens two hours before each concert.
